NIAMRRE Welcomes Sublime Stericeuticals as a New Startup Industry Member

Innovative Manufacturing Will Help Reduce the Need for Antibiotic Treatment

AMES, IOWA (January 14, 2021) —The National Institute of Antimicrobial Resistance Research and Education (NIAMRRE), a member organization that drives cross-sector engagement and coordinated action to combat the global threat of antimicrobial resistance (AMR), is pleased to announce Sublime Stericeuticals Corporation (Sublime Stericeuticals) as a new startup industry member.

“Cultivating resources is important to combat AMR and achieve optimal health outcomes. Sublime Stericeuticals is innovating a new continuous freeze-drying manufacturing process for drugs that help limit the potential for contamination, and consequently, limit the potential for drug recalls,” said NIAMRRE Executive Director, Paul Plummer. “They are also developing new medical devices that reduce the potential for infection, which will result in decreasing the need for antibiotic treatment. This is very good news as we work toward the goal of One Health: achieving the best health for people, animals, and our shared environment.”

Sublime Stericeuticals joins NIAMRRE’s ten academic member institutions including Iowa State University, Kansas State University, North Carolina State University, The Ohio State University, UC Davis Veterinary Medicine, University of Florida, University of Georgia, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, the University of Iowa, the University of Nebraska at Lincoln; two affiliate members: Farm Foundation and the University of Iowa’s State Hygienic Laboratory; and one additional startup industry member: Distynct.

Membership is available to academic, industry (commodity groups, pharma and health organizations, and retailers), affiliate (nonprofits and member associations), and startup stakeholders interested in cross-sector engagement to address global AMR challenges. Applications are accepted year-round for organizations dedicated to advancing the One Health approach—a collaborative methodology to achieve optimal health outcomes between people, animals, plants, and their shared environment.
