National Institute of Antimicrobial Resistance Research and Education is excited to announce the release of the One Health AMR Core Learning Outcomes. The document was formed as an update to the AMR Learning Outcomes developed by the Association of Public and Land Grant Universities and the Association of American Veterinary Medical Colleges AMR Core Competencies Working Group* using a One Health framework. The One Health Learning Outcomes serve as an outline for developing a curriculum to improve awareness and understanding of AMR across animals, humans, plants and the environment for youth, undergraduate and graduate students, as well as professional student levels.

“These outcomes cover aspects of AMR from defining One Health to global impact to resistance to stewardship and the roles and responsibilities across human, animal, and plant sectors,” Will Sander, Chair of AMR Learning Outcomes working group and Assistant Professor at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign said. “Formatted in traditional learning outcome language, these are useful for educators at all levels.”
