The March NIAMRRE Member Spotlight will feature Resilient Biotics. A core aim of Resilient Biotics is to leverage host-microbiome interactions in the respiratory tract system to improve resistance to disease and prevent pathogens from taking hold. Chris Belnap, CEO and co-founder, will discuss Resilient’s ongoing research in exploring the link between the respiratory microbiome and local immune responses to improve animal health and productivity. Resilient is utilizing these findings to design novel microbiome products that can replace antibiotic use in production animal systems.
Speaker
Chris cofounded and launched Resilient Biotics in 2017. He holds a Ph.D. in microbiology, and his extensive research background has been focused on microbial ecology and microbiome-host systems. Chris has spent his career as a scientific leader investigating microbiome communities and conducting discovery of novel microbes with unique functions. He has led Resilient through two rounds of venture funding to enable the development of the company’s novel respiratory microbiome products. Chris has previously developed microbials for both plant and animal applications in other successful companies including DuPont Pioneer and Taxon Biosciences.
