Work on developing new antimicrobial drugs faces economic, regulatory, and societal challenges. The NIAMRRE Quarterly Research Symposia Series continues this January with a focus on AMR Stewardship Through Antibiotic Alternatives, Vaccinology, and Other Therapeutics. Our diverse lineup of speakers includes six research talks and will conclude with an address and roundtable moderated by Cyril Gay, Senior National Program Leader, Animal Health and Safety for the USDA Agricultural Research Service in Beltsville, Maryland.
1-3 p.m. – Lightning Talks
Pre-recorded lightning talks allow for presenters to answer questions via the Q&A function on Zoom. Select questions will be answered verbally after each set of three presentations.
3-4 p.m. – Roundtable Discussion
Moderated by Dr. Cyril Gay, Senior National Program Leader for USDA-ARS in Beltsville, MD. Dr. Gay will give an address on the future of antibiotic alternatives, followed by a roundtable discussion on the process and challenges of bringing new products to market, featuring Jenny Filbey (Mazen), Rachelle Galvin (Resilient Biotics), and Nancy Hanson (Center for Research in Anti-Infectives and Biotechnology at Creighton University).
The virtual 2022 Winter Research Symposium will be recorded and shared with NIAMRRE’s scientist-based online community, Exchange. By participating in the 2022 Winter Research Symposium, you agree to be recorded.
